The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo has summoned to the Flagstaff House the Interior Minister, Ambrose Derry and the Inspector-General Police (IGP), Mr. David Asante-Apeatu over [ads1]general concerns of insecurity in the country.

The President who is currently out of the country and originally scheduled to return on March 5, 2018 had shortchanged his trip.

According to a statement signed by the Director of Communications at the Presidency,  Mr. Eugene Arhin, will return to the country tomorrow March 1st, instead of the previously announced date of March 5th 2018.

There are growing concerns of the state of insecurity in the country ranging from political vigilantism, killing of police officers on duty and high rate of armed robbery.

Just yesterday, there were two separate incidents of broad daylight robbery in Accra where in one instance 10 robbers reportedly stormed a shopping mall.

Today, some robbers have shot and killed a Lebanese businessman at Tema and went always with his GHc200,000.00.

According to reports the businessman had gone to cash the money at the Zenith Bank branch at Tema industrial area while returning has was trailed by the robber who blocked his car on the road and killed him.

Change of Schedule: President Akufo-Addo to return to Ghana tomorrow, March 1st.

Interior Minister, IGP summoned by President.

His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana will return to Ghana tomorrow March 1st, instead of the previously announced date of March 5th 2018.

He has also summoned to the Flagstaff House the Minister responsible for Interior and the Inspector-General Police (IGP) over general concerns of insecurity in the country.
