Five persons in the Akatsi North Constituency of the Volta region have received support from the Member of Parliament Peter Nortsu-Kotoe to learn trade.
The five were selected to commence the project which is aimed at enrolling five persons every month into various forms of apprenticeship.
The program is an initiative being funded by the MP and the NDC Constituency Chairman, Mr. Richard Awudza.
The first batch of beneficiaries received one sewing machine each and its accessories and have been handed over to an instructor who will take them through the training.
Presenting the items to the beneficiaries over the week, the NDC Chairman, Mr. Awudza said, “This is an initiative we deem fit to enroll in ensuring inclusiveness as far the development of our people are concerned. We are doing it such that, constituents who may not be able to get support for formal education for one reason or the other gets this support to learn trade and to be able to earn a livelihood.”
He added further that, “We intend to enroll at least, five interested persons every month into different vocations of choice.”
He further thanked the MP for buying into the initiative and lending the needed support it deserves.
