The President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo since Sunday, March 22, 2020 closed down the land borders of Ghana.

The closure has brought untold hardships since the livelihood of the people depends on the border.

Speaking to the Awake News , Mr. Dziwornu K. Song states that “Aflao is close to the national and economic capital of Togo. Most of our family members cross to do carpentry, masonry, plumbing , trading and other economic activities in Lomé. So closing the border here in Aflao entails locking down Aflao. Government never brought relief items to us”.Aflao people to demostrate

A trader in Aflao who wants to remain anonymous says hundreds of people from all over West Africa cross the border upon paying the immigration officials.

She said if COVID -19 prevention was the intention of government to shut down the border, then government better open the border and regulate movements of people. She passionately appeal to all residents of Aflao and surrounding communities to join the August 27 Demonstration dubbed “Open The Borders Now” .

This reporter can confirm that the organizers are yet to notify the police in accordance with the Public Order Act
