Dennis Miracles Aboagye, a member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) communications team, has openly supported the president’s decision to nominate seven additional Supreme Court judges, urging the government to go even further to “balance the bench” in their favor.

In a social media post, Aboagye commended the nominations, suggesting that the increase in judges would help prevent political actors from undermining the judiciary’s credibility when court decisions don’t go their way.

“Fantastic… Balanced now? If it’s not, pls add the rest and let’s move on,” he wrote, adding that more appointments could shield the courts from unfair criticism.

He pointed out that the government’s appointees, including the Chief Justice and many justices of the Supreme Court, are already in place.

“Your ‘own Chief Justice’ and plenty appointed SC Judges and your Chief Justice also assigning courts and judges to cases… Vhim,” he posted, signaling that critics should have confidence in the courts now that their preferred leadership is in charge.

Aboagye’s comments come amid public debate over the president’s move to expand the Supreme Court, which some fear could politicize the judiciary.

For Aboagye, however, the growing number of judges represents an opportunity for fairness, accountability, and an end to political name-calling after court losses.
