Wailer Foundation, a non-governmental organization has donated one thousand library books to the Adaklu Helekpe EP primary Basic school.
The Library which is expected to benefits the three communities, Helekpe, Awanyaviofe and Sikaman will help the children around these rural communities to embrace reading culture.
Speaking to the Executive Director of the Wailer Foundation, who also doubled as a media Practitioner with Dela Radio in Adidome, Mr. Christopher Vuyani Pappoe said, the gesture was to help the children improve upon their reading skills.
“I attended the Helekpe, Awanyaviofe and Sikaman Union (HASU) community festival last year and was saddened about how there was not even a single library available for the children”, he noted.
“I, therefore, took the initiative to fall on family and friends to help raise about 600 library books worth ghc4000 and also 400 was also donated by philanthropist”, he added.
Receiving the books on behalf of the school, the Assistant Headmaster Mr. Johnson Agamah, expressed his gratitude to the Wailer Foundation and also pleaded with other philanthropists to help promote schools found in the rural communities in order to help them be at par with their colleagues in the urban areas.
Wailer Foundation is a non-governmental organization, found in the Volta region. The foundation aims at improving the standard of education in rural communities.
