The Parliamentary Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Achiase Constituency of the Eastern Region, Mr Samuel Owusu Brako has intimated that if not for the NDC, the Constituency would have been abandoned and left less undeveloped.
According to him, since the New Patriotic Party (NPP) took over power from the NDC, there has been absolutely no development in the Constituency.
He was explicit that documented records and visible projects prove that the Achiase enclave got its share of development when the NDC was in power. He claimed that under the NPP, every good project came to a standstill because the NPP does not value the Achiase Constituency like the NDC does.
He observed in an interview with this portal that the people have continuously voted for the NPP but the constituency is behind in terms of developments.
“It’s high time to change our voting pattern and minds to vote for NDC to bring development into the constituency,” Samuel Owusu Brako stated.
According to Mr Brako, the NDC’s track record in the Constituency was unparalleled. He said it was time the people voted for the NDC for President and Parliament.
He mentioned that after his party lost power in 2016 and 2020, major projects in the Achiase Constituency have stalled because the NPP does not have the region’s interest.
Samuel Owusu Brako stressed that all the visible projects in the Constituency were instituted during NDC’s administration. He mentioned projects such as CHPS compounds, Water projects and electricity.
He pledged to lobby to bring good roads to Achiase Constituency because roads in the area are deplorable. Also, he said job creation and improving the health system are among his topmost priorities.
He admonished individuals in the Constituency to vote in peace and eschew activities that would ruin the peace and tranquillity of the country.
“Election 2024 is not about violence, let’s trade on peace to prevail and travail in the upcoming election.”
He further stressed that “Redeeming the Achiase Constituency from the bondage of NPP is a mission possible,” however, it requires a collaborative effort to kick incompetent NPP out of power.
