Mr. Numekevor was relieved of his position on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, following complaints about the poor state of Ghana’s major stadia.

In a social media post, Mr. Ablakwa argued that the NSA should not be the only casualty, adding that the Minister for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, must also be held accountable.

“The Sports Minister must equally be fired, and all those responsible for this humongous international disgrace and huge financial loss to the state should be prosecuted.,” he said.

The outspoken MP expressed the opinion that, “Creating one scapegoat is not adequate deterrence for the unprecedented monumental international embarrassment the corrupt and inept Akufo-Addo/ Bawumia government has subjected Ghana to. ”

In addition, the North Tongu lawmaker called on the President to retrieve the over GH₵85 million paid to companies and individuals, including Kelvin Ofori-Atta, an alleged relative of the President, for the refurbishment of some stadia in the country.

“The President must immediately retrieve our GH₵85million stadia rehabilitation payments from his cousin Kelvin Ofori-Atta and Javkier Limited owned by the Arhin ladies.” he stated.
