The Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has sarcastically admitted that the founder of Power Chapel Worldwide, Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng, has not been awarded any contracts by President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

The North Tongu lawmaker clarified that the Secretary to the Board of the National Cathedral actually did receive contracts from the President, but under his other name, Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.

The MP’s comments came after Rev. Kusi Boateng stated at the “Signs and Token Conference” on July 31, 2024, that he had not received money or contracts from both the President and Vice President.

At the conference, Rev. Boateng said “Nana Addo is a good friend of mine: he knows, he is a very good friend of mine. I have never taken a dollar from him. He has never given me a contract. Bawumia has never given me a contract”.

Responding to the comments through a social media post, Mr Ablakwa said “Technically, Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng’s declaration that he has never received a contract from the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government even though he enjoys great friendship with the President and vice is quite true. From my unimpeachable tracking, all the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government contracts have been awarded to Kusi Boateng’s second identity — which is Kwabena Adu Gyamfi”.

He backed his claims with documents showing payments made to two companies: EL Dunamis Limited and JNS Talent Centre Limited, which, according to the Parliamentarian, were both owned by Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.

According to Mr Ablakwa the “companies were paid a total of GHS7million (GHS3.5million each) for the supply of paper towels to the Ministry of Health in 2021. JNS Talent received payment from government on 23rd July, 2021. EL Dunamis was also paid by government on 17th August, 2021 for the supply of tissues.”
