Scores of NPP delegates in the Cape Coast South Constituency in the Central Region are saying the only candidate who has the capability to snatch the parliament seat from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is the current constituency chairman, Mr. Abban Ghansah.

quick survey conducted by Awake News in the constituency puts Mr. Ghansah ahead of his other contenders. About 87.5% (350) of the 400 delegates said they want Mr. Ghansah to lead the party in the 2020 parliamentary elections adding that they think he is the only candidate that can help the NPP win the seat.

The New Patriotic Party’s National Executive Committee has directed that orphan constituencies (constituencies without NPP incumbent MPs) across the country hold their constituency primaries – a process that commenced July 20, 2019 with the elections slated for September 28, simultaneously across the country.

Who is Mr. Abban Ghansah?

Mr Abban Ghansah, the current Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Cape Coast South Constituency.

He is a 35-year-old Estate and Properties Manager believes supporting his constituent initiative through job creation.

During the constituency election, Mr Ghansah polled 367 votes to beat his opponent Mr Alex Hagan, who garnered 214 in a keenly contested election held at the Adisadel College School Park in Cape Coast in 2018.

He is a product of Mfantsipim School and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology.
