President John Dramani Mahama recently expressed his gratitude to outgoing security chiefs for their service to Ghana, including Isaac Kofi Egyir (Prisons), Julius A. Kuunuor (Fire), and Kwame Asuah Takyi (Immigration).

However, former Inspector General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare, was noticeably absent from both Mahama’s appreciation message and the meeting.

This has sparked speculation, especially given the controversy surrounding Dampare’s dismissal and replacement with Christian Tetteh Yohonu.

No explanation has been provided for Dampare’s absence, but it has certainly fueled ongoing discussions about his exit from the position.
