The Ghana Police Service has announced the temporary closure of several roads in preparation for the 68th Independence Day parade, which will be held at the Jubilee House.

The affected roads include Liberation Road at the Opeabia intersection, the 37 Intersection towards the Central Business District, Independence Avenue at Ako-Adjei Bypass, Jawaharlal Nehru Road near the Switchback Road area, and Presidential Drive around the Jubilee House. Roadblocks will also be set up at TV3 Junction and the Kanda Link.

Motorists are advised to plan ahead and seek alternative routes, as these road closures may cause significant traffic disruptions. The police have urged the public to be mindful of the changes and to make necessary adjustments to their travel plans.

This year’s Independence Day parade will take place at the Jubilee House, in contrast to previous years when it was held at the Black Star Square. According to the government, this decision is part of efforts to save money and focus on rebuilding Ghana’s economy, which is currently facing challenges.
