Reliable sources within the ECOWAS leadership at the 51st Ordinary Session of the heads of States of ECOWAS hints that barring any unforeseen dramatic changes, the Heads of States will elect the President of Togo Faure Gnassingbè as it’s head after this year’s session.

This will come as a big blow to Ghana’s President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo who launched a very strong diplomatic lobbying clothed in what he called a West African tour to introduce himself to the other West African leaders.

[ads1]The expensive lobbying saw Akufo-Addo criss crossing West Africa leaving the running of the country into the hands of his cousin and minister for Finance Ken Ofori Attah and and Snr Minister Yaw Osafo Marfo.

The lobbying by Akufo-Addo did not go down with most of the West African leaders who felt that he was a fresh entrant and needs to bid his time as there was a queue.

We will keep you posted on developments within the sub – regional body.
