The 9th Council of State has been inaugurated with 31 members, comprising ex-officio, appointed, and elected representatives.
The Council, established by Articles 89 to 92 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, advises the President on national issues.
Ex-Officio Members
The ex-officio members include:
– Justice Sophia Akuffo, a former Chief Justice of Ghana
– Mohammed Ahmed Alhassan, a former Inspector General of Police
– Air Marshal Michael Samson Oje, former Chief of the Defence Staff
– Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, President of the National House of Chiefs
