In a press release sighted by Awake News from the ministry of interior signed by the minister Amborse Dery declares 6th November as not a public Holiday.
The press release was issued to clarify that though 6th November is Farmers Day but it is not a public Holiday. The press release dated 2rd November 2020 indicates that 4th December 2020 which marks Farmers Day remains a statutory public holiday and would be observed as such throughout the country.
The press release which is directed at the general public and public workers has failed to indicate the reason behind this arrangement but information picked up by Awake News points to the 7th December 2020 general election as the main reason for these changes.
