A heartbreaking accident in Noberkow, Ahafo Region, has claimed the life of a 30-year-old pregnant woman, Susana Fosuaa Agyeman, after she was struck by a speeding articulated truck loaded with wood.
The incident occurred around 4:30 PM when Susana stepped out of a taxi near a food vendor’s stall. Witnesses say the truck, registered AS 636-14, was moving fast and sounded its horn only once.
As Susana tried to move away, she tripped and fell. The truck failed to stop and ran over her, causing devastating injuries.
The impact tore her body apart, exposing internal organs and her unborn baby. Her remains had to be collected with a shovel and were later taken to the morgue.
Her grieving mother, Afia Fremah, who is in poor health, spoke through tears. “She was going to the market to sell goods when this happened. The driver ran away. I leave him to God. Now, I’m left with her three young children and I’m really struggling.”
Her father, Mr. Kofi Agyeman, added, “She was a hardworking single mother. Seeing her lifeless body at the mortuary was something no parent should go through.”
Family members, including her cousin Kwame Agala, are demanding justice. “The truck’s driver and his mate have not reached out. We don’t know if they’ve turned themselves in. We want the law to take its course.”
As police investigate, the family is calling on the public and charitable organizations to help support Susana’s children, who now face an uncertain future without their mother.
