A Twenty-three year old man, Emmanuel Marfo, is in the firm grips of Police in the Eastern Region for allegedly posing as a lawyer at the Koforidua Circuit Court A.
The suspect as a lawyer and went to court to represent a client in a civil suit during a sitting.
[ads1]Luck however eluded Emmanuel Marfo when Presiding Judge, Evelyn Asamoah, found his conduct suspicious during the court proceedings following his inability to present and argue his case well and professionally.
Emmanuel Marfo was thus handed over to the court warrant officers after he admitted upon further interrogation that he was not a qualified lawyer.
According to the Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer who confirmed the arrest to Citi News, arrangements are underway to process him for court.
“On 24th August, warrant officers at the Koforidua circuit court A arrested and brought to the station suspect Emmanuel Marfo who is 23 years of age. Emmanuel, who was dressed like a lawyer wearing a bib posed as a Lawyer at the court to represent a client in a civil suit before the court”.
“During the court sitting the judge found his utterances, posture and gestures suspicious during his presentation and upon further scrutiny by the judge the suspect admitted not being a lawyer and was handed over to the police”.
DSP Ebenezer Tetteh said “he is currently in our custody and the necessary arrangements are being made to send him to court this week”.
