Hearts of Oak and local Black Stars midfielder, Winful Cobbinah, is assuring Ghanaians that he and his teammates will not disappoint and will win the upcoming 2017 WAFU Cup of Nations to atone for their failure to qualify for next year’s Championship for African Nations (CHAN).

Cobbinah a key player for the local Blacks featured in that game that [ads1]saw Ghana eliminated by Burkina Faso by a (3-4) aggregate score line after the two-leg encounter.

Speaking to Awake Sports he said, “We were very disappointed when we lost to Burkina Faso during the CHAN qualifiers which prevented from us qualifying.

“We now have to win the WAFU tournament for Ghanaians to be happy as well as to make amends for our failure to qualify for the tournament and that is what we hoping for.

Speaking on the issue of his exclusion from the Black Stars A squad, the Hearts of Oak talisman said, “No, I am not disappointed I missed out of the squad. The coach does his selection and I am calm even though I wasn’t called up. I just have to keep working hard and I might get back into the team.

Winful Cobbinah was part of the Black Stars team that played two international friendlies in the USA in June and July.
