The Takoradi Divisional Police Command has arrested three suspects, Joana Krah, aged 29; Susana Awortwe, aged 27 and Francis Eshun, aged 27 for allegedly faking a kidnap and demanding a ransom of Five-Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵ 5,000.00).

According to the Police in a statement, suspect Joana Krah allegedly conspired with Susan Awortwe and Francis Eshun to feign her kidnapping on Friday, October 22, 2021, after which a call was placed to her adopted father in demand for the ransom.

The statement said after Joana became aware that her adopted father had reported the incident to the Police and an extensive search had commenced to her, she showed up at the Takoradi Central Police station, Sunday, October 23, 2021, to confess to only joking with her father.

The three are being sent to court today, October 25, 2021.

Last month, Ghanaians were saddened with the news that a pregnant woman had been kidnaped. However, it turns out that the incident was faked.
