Prosecute Agyeman-Manu if you’re committed to corruption fight -Korsi Senyo to Akufo-Addo

Korsi Senyo and Nana Akufo-Addo

Journalist and Pan-Africanist, Korsi Senyo has reacted to the Parliamentary committee findings urging Finance Minister to recover an amount US$ 2,850,000 of the Sputnik V vaccine due the republic.

According to him, our public officials continue to swear by the Bible, Quran or cross, yet embezzlement is their hallmark.

In a post sighted by the Awake News on Facebook, Mr. Senyo quizzed, ”Why is the Health Minister, Kweku Agyeman Manu still at post? Did this man not tell Parliament under oath some few weeks ago that no payment was done in respect of the middle-man over priced #Sputnik V Procument?
Adding that he was not in thinking properly when he sign the contracts?”.

“Now is turning out that indeed payment has been made and the finance ministry is being tasked by parliament to recover the money” – he stated.

His remark comes after the Committee found that the amount of US$2,850,000.00 (representing 50% of the contract sum of US$5,700,000.00) has been paid to Messrs Al Maktoum and this translates into the cedi equivalent of GH¢16,331,640.00 converted at the then prevailing exchange rate of US$1 to GH¢5.73 whereas the Minister said he had no knowledge of payment under oath.

Based on the findings, the Committee recommended the following:
The Committee is of the opinion that even if the situation in the country at the time the agreement was signed was that of an emergency, due process of law should have been followed because Parliament would have treated the issue with the urgency it deserved and the appropriate action would have been taken accordingly.  The Agreement would have been taken under Certificate of Urgency in accordance with the
Standing Orders and the practice of the House.

However, Korsi Senyo bemoaned that, “If the president is indeed committed and says he wants to fight corruption, this is another golden opportunity for him to prosecute the Health Minister”.

Our public officials continue to swear by the Bible, quoran or cross and lie big time, steal big time. The state must forget about this Christianity and Muslim thing and make official swear buy the Gods of our land.
