A shocking scene unfolded in the Central East Region of the police command at Kasoa as over 150 residents were left stranded after a forceful eviction by officers from the Regional Police Command.

The eviction, which was carried out in favour of a private landowner, Kwame Baafi, has raised concerns about police brutality and the rights of marginalized communities.

According to eyewitnesses, the police arrived at the scene with a group of 100 alleged landguards, who were armed and ready to intimidate the residents.

The residents, who had been living on the land for years, were caught off guard and were unable to resist the eviction.

Despite their attempts to assert their rights, the police and landguards clashed with the residents, resulting in their homes being locked up and their belongings being confiscated.

The eviction follows a court judgment in favour of Kwame Baafi, who claims ownership of over 10 acres of land.

However, the residents dispute this claim, arguing that they have been living on the land for generations and have never been served with any eviction notices.

The residents also claim that the police did not follow due process in carrying out the eviction, and that they were not given adequate notice or time to vacate the premises.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage and condemnation, with many calling for an investigation into the police’s actions.

The residents, who are now homeless and without access to basic necessities like food and water, are demanding for justice and compensation for their losses.

Meanwhile, the Police is yet to respond to the development.
