Opuni, Agyapong cases: Let’s know if you’re NPP executive – Yayra Koku to CJ

A Member of the National Communication Team of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yayra Koku reacted to news that the High Court has dismissed a second application by the lawyer for the former CEO of the Ghana Cocoa Board COCOBOD, Dr. Stephen Opuni seeking the presiding judge, Clemence Hoenyenuga to recuse himself from the ongoing trial of his client.

The news comes less than 72hours after media reports that the Chief Justice has granted Kenedy Agyaping’s request for justice Eric Baah be retained in the defamation case after a substantive judge had been put on the case, stating timing and knowledge of the case for their choice.

This the IT Expert took to his social media page to cry over the development saying “Dr Opuni wrote to the CJ requesting for the judge sitting on his case to be changed cos of his bias. The CJ refused Dr Opuni’s request. Kennedy Agyapong wrote to the CJ requesting a particular judge to sit on his case, and his request was granted.”

The seeming unhappy NDC Member then asks: “If the CJ is an executive member of the NPP, he should please tell us so that we know we are dealing with a branch of NPP.”
