Sheikh Armiyawo Shaibu, Spokesperson for the National Chief Imam, has cautioned Ghanaian youth against allowing themselves to be used by politicians. He said every young person should be enlightened and value their lives more than what a political party or politician has to offer.
Speaking at a press conference by the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Sheikh Armiyawo Shaibu said there should be no blood shed in the 2024 elections. He warned politicians against inducing young people to go on suicidal missions during elections.
According to Sheikh Armiyawo Shaibu, the happenings at the limited voter registration centres speak volume of what trouble the nation can expect in December. He said the incidents at the centres have raised fear and anxiety ahead of the December elections.
“I speak to the youth of our country. No politician is worth the blood of another. This year, let no blood spill on our land because of politics. Politicians, make sure you avoid preparing the minds of our young people for violence. The recent voter registration gives credence to our fear and anxiety of possible violence in December,” he stated.
