Vote for me to defeat corruption – John Mahama

John Mahama

Former President John Mahama has stated that his next administration will defeat corruption. He said the impact of stealing and looting national resources has deprived many Ghanaians of livelihoods and must be stopped.

John Mahama mentioned the Pwalugu multipurpose dam which became another of the celebrated NPP scandals after one of the contractors was paid for the final work when work has not started.

“The impacts of many cases of financial malfeasance, stealing, cost inflation, sole source contracts, and projects that are funded but never completed are becoming more the norm than the exemption. Recently, MPs raised the issue of the Pwalugu multi-purpose dam [project], which was supposed to be an almost $1 billion investment.”

“A contract was awarded, and $12 million was paid to the contractor for absolutely no work done. There are many cases that I could cite.”

The NDC flagbearer made a solemn plegde before the Christian Ecumenical Council on Monday, May 20 that he would commit to tackling corruption head-on. He assured that he will fight and win against corruption if elected.

“I make a firm promise that the administration that I will lead will fight the canker of corruption and defeat it.”
