Mahama never built a single regional hospital – Information Minister

Fatimatu Abubakar on John Mahama

The Minister for Information, Fatimatu Abubakar, has stated that former President John Dramani Mahama never initiated, built, or completed a single regional hospital.

Speaking on Metro TV‘s “Good Morning Ghana” on Monday, August 26, 2024, the Minister argued that the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress performed abysmally both as Vice President and President. She also labeled the NDC’s “Green Book” as a document full of non-existent projects.

She expressed the opinion that all the hospital projects undertaken by the erstwhile NDC government were inherited from the Kufuor-led administration.

She said “All the projects that they have written for them to go out there and sing, they do not know where the projects are located. If she knew she would have known that NDC didn’t build a hospital at Abetifi, if she knew, she would know that the legacy project that she even wanted to taut, Formina and Kumawu, were just commissioned by Nana Akufo-Addo.”

“Afari military hospital, 500 bed capacity, ask everybody in Ashanti region who built the Afari military hospital and they will tell you it is President Akufo-Addo who built it, who is about to commission it, is a legacy project. And this Vamed, Euroget projects all started from President Kufuor’s time and former president Mahama has not started and completed a single regional hospital, take it from me,” she reiterated.
