Former Black Stars player Laryea Kingston has warned coach Otto Addo of the strategy Sudan will employ in the second leg of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Tuesday.
The former U-17 coach says from the first leg of the fixture, Sudan’s game plan was to sit back and make two or three passes together to get into the scoring sheet, hence they are well predicted to play attack in the second leg.
“I know very well that if I’m a coach going into the next leg of the game, especially on the opponent’s home ground, and considering the way they played against me, being careful, managing the game very well by sitting back and then sometimes putting two or three passes together, that should automatically tell me that when I play against them at their home ground, they’re going to change their style and come at me” he explained.
Laryea then called on Otto Addo to come out firing from all angles else panic will set in from his camp which will be catastrophic for Ghana.
The former coach said “So for me, going into that game, I think we don’t have to sit back. When we sit back and wait for them, like we do when we apply mid-pressure, they start to get close to our box and cause us problems. Trust me, I guarantee you, panic will set in”.
The second leg will be played on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 in Libya at the martyrs of February Stadium (Benghazi).
