Kill yourself before NDC returns to power – Amos tells Keta Port CEO

The Deputy Greater Accra Regional Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Amos Blessing Amorse has taken on the Director of the yet to be established Keta Port, Dr. Alexander Adusei.

In a Facebook post sighted by Awake News the vociferous youth leader warns the Dr. Adusei to “what is good for him” by resigning “and pay back all monies and allowances he has received from the State.” as the Director of the Keta Port.

“If he fails to do this before power changes hand, he should either kill himself immediately or the world will not be a happy place for him to reside, walai.” – Mr. Amorse said.

Mr. Amorse was responding to post from Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, the Managing Director at Accra Digital Centre who was dismissing claims that the Dr. Alexander Adusei was appointed as Director of a non-exiting Keta Port only to draw huge salaries from the taxpayer for no work done.

Mr. Kofi Ofosu Nkansah further explained that “He [Dr. Adusi] was appointed to start the project [Keta Port] with additional responsibility at the Tema Ship Yard and that’s where he has been working”

“He has currently completed work on Feasible [feasibility] studies and physical works on the project [Keta Port] will take off soon” – He said

But is explanations seems not to go down well with the NDC youth leader who dismissed those points saying “The world all over, nobody appoints CEO for a proposed would-be State institution to lead the construction of the institution.”

According to him, “Only criminals would conceive this idea and implement it.” adding that “If government was mindful of keeping to it’s promise to protect the public purse, it would have tasked the Ministry of Transport or Aviation to assemble a technical team to put together feasibility plan for the Port.”

A letter under the signature of the Transport Minister, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, dated March 19, 2019, announced that President Akufo-Addo has appointed of Dr Adusei as Director of the Keta Port.

Many Ghanaians have expressed disappointment at the President’s action whiles others called for the reversal of the decision.

So what exactly is this guy denying? To think that he is the man NPP footsoldiers call their President, tells you the kind of footsoldiers in NPP. His explanation further deepens the woes of the Akufo Addo/Bawumia government and the man who calls himself CEO of Keta Port.

His explanation confirms one thing; that there is no Port called Keta Port but a CEO has been appointed by the Akufo Addo/Bawumia government for same. Kofi admits that though Keta Port exist only on the tall Wishlist of the Akufo Addo/Bawumia government, the reason why a CEO was appointed and being paid ‘fat’ salary is for him to commission people to work on feasibility study for the Port to be built.

The world all over, nobody appoints CEO for a proposed would-be State institution to lead the construction of the institution. Only criminals would conceive this idea and implement it. If government was mindful of keeping to it’s promise to protect the public purse, it would have tasked the Ministry of Transport or Aviation to assemble a technical team to put together feasibility plan for the Port.

When the idea of Bui Dam and Ghana Gas was conceived, CEOs were not appointed before the project started and completed. If what Akufo-Addo and Dr Bawumia have done was lawful, they would have taken steps to appoint a board for Keta Port. The part which says the Keta Port CEO was charged with additional responsibility at Tema Ship Yard is absurd. Which work is he doing there that managers of Tema Ship Yard are not doing?

If the man who is happily parading himself as CEO of Keta Port knows what is good for him, he should resign and pay back all monies and allowances he has received from the State. If he fails to do this before power changes hand, he should either kill himself immediately or the world will not be a happy place for him to reside, walai.
