Joycelyn Tetteh is 2023 Best Female Member of Parliament

Joycelyn Tetteh, the National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament for North Dayi in the Volta Region has been adjudged as the Best Female MP for the year 2023 by the FAKS’s Performance of Ministers Project.

The FAKS’s Project assesses the performance of Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Members of Parliament and Chief Executive Officers of state enterprises by evaluating development projects they undertook among other indicators.

Ms Tetteh was honoured alongside New Patriotic Party’s MP for Nsuta- Kwamang-Beposo in the Ashanti Region, Adelaide Ntim. Other Members of Parliament who were honoured included Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Joseph Kwame Kumah and Francis Xavier Sosu. She attributed her success to support from former President John Dramani Mahama, her colleagues, and constituents in the discharge of her duties.

The recognition by FAKS’s Project came on the back of the 2023 edition of the Women’s Choice Awards which was held at the Underbridge Luxury Event Centre, Accra in December last year during which Ms Tetteh was honoured for her outstanding leadership. The Women’s Choice Awards recognized several hardworking women in Ghana and on the African continent for their varied contributions and leadership positions, as well as achievements.

Speaking after receiving the honour, the North Dayi lawmaker emphasized the importance of women in the nation’s socioeconomic development and promised to work tirelessly to enhance the lives of others, particularly women and children.

A citation presented to Ms Tetteh read: “We recognize your remarkable strides, noteworthy success, outstanding leadership, and tireless efforts”. It continued: “Your influence in the Choice of African Women is phenomenal and as such, we at Global Ovations Ltd are delighted to honour you at the Women’s Choice Awards Africa 2023”.

The young legislator expressed gratitude to God and dedicated her award to her constituents for their support over the years. She also recognized the joint work of NGOs, people, and families in pushing North Dayi’s development agenda forward and encouraged them to continue to unite behind her.
