Professor Stephen Kwaku Asare, popularly known as Kwaku Azar, has lashed the Supreme Court of Ghana, saying it is only contempt when the powerless insult the powerful.

On a social media post, he said this in relation to the letter issued by the Judicial Service to media houses ordering media houses to pull down and clear from their online platforms “hateful, spiteful, vengeful and incendiary” comments about the Justices of the  Supreme court.

He quizzed will we ever find out who ordered the judicial service to issue that veiled threat to the people to “shut up” because the majority of the people are “uneducated and ill-informed? And will that person or persons ever be held accountable for abusing their office and hijacking the judicial service to issue such a contemptuous statement”?

He added that “will the GBA issue a statement demanding a retraction, apology, and accountability similar to the statements it issues about the length of female dress”?

He maintained that the answer to the questions is NO!.

He noted that “this is Ghana! We are supposed to move on when “big men” insult us. It is only contempt when the powerless insult the powerful”.

Power is right, might, knowledge, and wisdom professor Azar concluded.

NO!

In fact, I won’t be too surprised if some members of the judicial service first found out or heard about the statement when it was published.

This is Ghana! We are supposed to move on when “big men” insult us. It is only contempt when the powerless insult the powerful.

Power is right, might, knowledge and wisdom.

#SALL is the cardinal sin of the 8th Parliament. We are supposed to move on because no big man is affected by their disenfranchisement.

Da Yie!
