The Member of Parliament (MP) for East Tema, Isaac Ashai Odamtten says, threats by the NPP that they will force a by-election in the constituency can’t intimidate him.
On Ahotor FM, Thursday, the MP said the electoral humiliation the NPP suffered in the hands of the constituency is still giving them a lingering nightmare.
“The 2020 elections were about track records and, for me and the NDC, we sold John Mahama’s achievements and my achievements when I was the MCE to the electorate. The NDC in my constituency worked very hard to give me that unprecedented victory after 24 years,” Mr Odamtten explained.
In the light of that, he said statements by the NPP that, there would be a by-election in the constituency does not tickle him “because, you know what? I have not committed any crime and my life is in the hands of my Maker. Man will do his best but my God shall subdue them,” he added.
Mr. Odamtten also said he’s yet to report the NPP’s threat to the police, albeit the party in the constituency had done that.
Thanking the NDC and the electorate of his constituency for the privilege to become their MP, Mr Odamtten said: “I also have a duty to ensure that I do my best to alleviate poverty by empowering my people, lobby developments to the constituency and work hard to make the NDC more attractive for the 2024 general elections.”
He further thanked his colleague NDC MPs for the support they continue to offer him when he calls on them.
