Elections 2024: be impartial -GRASAG GCTU President urges Police

Roger T. D. Wills

The GRASAG GCTU President, Mr Roger T.D Wills has urged the Ghana Police Service to stand up for justice and maintain respect for the fundamental human rights of the masses.

Speaking to this portal Mr Wills said the Police should always remember that they are peace officers and in their hands, the people have entrusted their security. He said that based on that simple logic, the Police must not be seen doing the bidding of a political party before, during or after Election 2024.

Mr Wills observed that the Police Service demands from its officers a high sense of patriotism, integrity, fairness, good manners, understanding and impartiality in all their dealings with the public.

He said, the inspector General of police, Mr George Akuffo Dampare must be highly impartial and should not lead the service to align with any political party in this year’s elections. Roger Wills added that the IGP must lead with high professionalism and fairness in dealing with the citizenry.

Also, Mr Wills said Ghanaians would stand up against injustice and would not succumb to intimidation from any person or group, including the Police getting to Election 2024.
