The Managing Director of the Mariville Homes Estate, Maria O’Sullivan has petitioned President Akufo-Addo for the removal of Mrs. Gifty Agyei Addo, Justice of the High Court who has recently been nominated for the Court of Appeal.
Awake News’ sources say the businesswoman has submitted the petition in accordance with article 146(1) of the 1992 Constitution of the Rebulication of Ghana on the ground of alleged “stated misbehavior”
It is not yet clear what the said stated misbehaviors, however, Mrs. Gifty Agyei Addo and her husband, Mr. Maxwell Agyei Addo have recently been in the news about a dispute with Maria O’Sullivan over a parcel of land located at the Mariaville Homes at Okpoi Gono, East Airport in Accra.
In an earlier news report by Awake News, the High Court judge and the husband were jointly accused by the estate developer to have allegedly demolished a wall she constructed with six armed Police Officers from the Property Fraud Unit of Ghana Police Service.
Mr. Agyei Addo confirmed to Awake News to have engaged the services of Police Officers from the Property Fraud Unit of the Ghana Police Service headquarters where they had filed a complaint of trespass on their land.
According to him, he ordered the Police Officers to pull down the wall because the land belongs to him and his wife, Mrs. Gifty Agyei Addo. He said they bought the land from Mariville Estate sometime in 20002 but Maria O’Sullivan, the Managing Director of the Estate prevented them from developing it forcing them to go to court.
