Zabrama Chief hails Nana Addo for recognizing Zabrama’s in Ghana

Sarkin Zaid Pro-Umar Tanko, a Cabinet Member of the Greater Accra Zabrama Chief and the General Secretary of the Ghana Zabarma Association has applauded President Nana Akuffo Addo for recognizing the efforts made by Nigeriens in Ghana for their contribution towards the economy and the development of the country.

He further applauded past and present governments for living in peace with the Nigeriens in Ghana, whiles acknowledging the culture of peace and hard work the Zabarma people have showcased over the years.

The Cabinet member revealed that the Zabarma people have been living in Ghana over 100 years and as a result, many Ghanaians have a Zabarma heritage or ties with the Zabarma people.

“I am a Ghanaian by birth, some of my people are Ghanaian by marriage, my mother hails from Anfoega in the Volta Region and generations of my father’s lineage were born here,” he noted.

He assured that the people of Zabrama in Ghana will continue to live in peace with others and strengthen the bond with all tribes.

Sarkin Zaid Pro-Umar Tanko was reacting to the recent visit by the President of Niger Mohamadou Issoufou when Ghana celebrated its 62nd independence anniversary at Tamale in the Northern region.

President Akufo Addo used the occasion to commend the Zabarma community in Ghana for living in peace and harmony as well as contributing positively to the growth of Ghana’s economy.

President Nana Addo stated that the presence of the Niger President in Ghana’s Independent day anniversary have been a source of considerable pride to the people of Nigerien community in Ghana.

According to Sarkin Zaid, the presence of the Nigerien President at the function is an indication that, the government of Ghana recognized their efforts in the development of Ghana.
