The Bono Regional Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Efo Worlanyo Tsekpo has urges the junior officers of the Ghana Police Service to join civilians to put pressure on the government to fix the country.

“Junior Police officers, have you ever heard that any of your senior officers have ever been shot in the cause of discharging their duties? If you don’t speak up and join us to push the government and your selfish and greedy leaders to fix the system, the next to die may be you.” – Efo Worlanyo on his Facebook page as sighted by Awake News.

Efo Worlanyo was reacting to the shooting and killing of a police officer escorting a bullion van at James Town in Accra last Monday.

There have been more than three attacks on bullion van this year alone by armed robbers.

Whiles calling for a full-scale investigation into the attack on the van by the robbers, the Inspector General of Police, James Oppong Boanuh is reported to have said that crime is everywhere except heaven.

His comments have attracted condemnation. This Efo Worlanyo has stated that “Our current IGP is the worst of all IGPs in the history of Ghana. This is the man who under his watch four people were killed in his region and till date, no arrest has been made. He is my inlaw- married my Hohoe sister but the least said about him the better.”

“When we asked the government to fix the system, IGP used same police officers to attack and block innocent citizens from expressing their views”

“Today our brother is gone! The banks will meet IGP and drink tea with him and give him fuel, then the next day Bawumia will come and repromise them bulletproof vests he promised them in 2018/2019 then the story will ends.” – he fumes

THE UNSAFE GHANA AND THE HEARTLESS IGP.

A police friend called me this early dawn very worried because he doesn’t know who is next to die as an officer.

According to him, their welfare has not been a matter for discussion since the current IGP took over. He said their lives were in danger.

Now the question is Who watches the watchman?

I told him the problem is that the junior officers themselves, instead of them speaking out, they are all afraid of getting fired for speaking up.

“Trusting a senior police officer as a junior officer is a criminal offense against yourself as a junior officer.” he was told.

It took just one junior officer in the army to stop parliament from building a new chamber because of the fear of the military rising. Though that officer’s rank has been reduced and is still facing disciplinary charges, to many of us he is a hero!

A police officer will never talk. Even when they are dying. In 2019 more than 20 police officers were shot dead, several others beaten by NPP invisible forces but still our officers are afraid to talk and fight for their rights.

Their superiors are bought with goodies from this government so they don’t care about what their officers go through.

The only time you hear the senior officers talk plenty with fake promises is when there is pressure from the masses. These Senior Officers are protected, they are on fat allowances, they have protection, the government is taking very good care of them so why should they think about their junior officers?

Our current IGP is the worst of all IGPs in the history of Ghana. This is the man who under his watch four people were killed in his region and till date, no arrest has been made. He is my inlaw- married my Hohoe sister but the least said about him the better.

It is time Junior police Officers rise against their leadership if not they will continue to die on the field while their leaders attend their funerals to donate 2000 cedis and wait to be served beer and jollof from that same 2000 cedis donation.

When we asked the government to fix the system IGP used the same police officers to attack and block innocent citizens from expressing their views.

Today our brother is gone! The banks will meet IGP and drink tea with him and give him fuel, then the next day Bawumia will come and repromise them bulletproof vests he promised them in 2018/2019 then the story will ends.

Junior Police officers, have you ever heard that any of your senior officers have ever been shot in the cause of discharging their duties? If you don’t speak up and join us to push the government and your selfish and greedy leaders to fix the system, the next to die may be you.

May the soul of our brother rest in peace.
