The Volta Regional Secretariat of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) says all “aspirants would be made to sign a declaration form to be committed to accepting the outcome of the vetting and the primaries without resorting to any legal or court litigation.”
According to statement signed by the Regional Secretary, Mr. James Gunu and sighted by Awake News, the decision is to help “consolidate the unity and cohesion in the party to secure a resounding victory for H.E President John Dramani Mahama, and the NDC in the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections.”
“All aspirants shall be committed to issue based campaign devoid of personal attacks and rally behind the winner of the August 24th, 2019, Parliamentary Primaries to galvanize a united front towards winning the 2020 elections.”
The world bank of the NDC is scheduled to vet all Parliamentary Aspirants on July 24 and 25, 2019 at the Conference Room of the Regional Secretariat, located at Alayi Street, Mawuli Estate, Ho at exactly 9.00am each day.
He has also by the statement asking all “Constituency Chairmen are to come along with the Branch Membership Register(s) of all the Parliamentary Aspirants from their constituencies” adding that “there would be balloting for successful Aspirants immediately after the vetting” but “no balloting for unopposed contestants.”
“Each Aspirant is allowed to bring not more than thirty (30) supporters who would be provided seats outside the vetting room. Aspirants shall be held responsible for any misconduct of their supporter(s)”. – the statement added

OF PARLIAMENTARY ASPIRANTS FOR THE 2020 ELECTIONS
