Yaw Preko appointed as National U-15 boys team coach

Yaw Preko named national U-15 male team coach

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has handed over the reigns of the National U-15 boys team with immediate effect to Yaw Preko as the Head Coach.

This comes after the FA decision to move Abdul Karim Zito to the Male U-19 team. Yaw Preko will be assisted by Awudu Issaka and Mubarak Gado respectively.

The gaffer has 64 caps for Ghana and his managerial experience at club level include stints as Head Coach at Medeama SC and Great Olympics. He has also served as assistant coach at Accra Hearts of Oak and Ifeanyi Ubah in Nigeria.

Yaw Preko and his staff are expected to build a strong foundation for the development of young players to feed Ghana’s national teams within the framework of Ghana’s philosophical approach to Football development.

During his playing days, Yaw Preko played for Belgium giants Anderlecht, Accra Hearts of Oak and in Turkey for Gaziantepspor, Fenerbahçe and Yimpaş Yozgatsporduring.

A statement from the GFA said, it is “targeted at building strong youth development structures and systems to consistently feed various age category teams with quality and well moulded talent” the FA noted.
