Women’s Day: Alliance of Feminist CSOs, Plan Ghana to hold roundtable discussion

Alliance for Feminists CSOs in partnership with Plan Ghana is scheduled to hold a roundtable discussion to mark the 2021 International Women’s Day at the Accra City Hotel on Monday, March 8, 2021.

International Women’s Day is a day set globally to celebrate the economic, cultural, social, and political achievements of women.

On the theme, “Women in Leadership Achieving Equal Future in the Covid-19 World”, the Alliance of feminist CSOs and Plan International is bringing together stakeholders to discuss issues affecting women.

The day also marks a call to action for a holistic acceleration of gender parity. Groups come together to celebrate women’s achievements or rally together on one initiative for women’s equality on this day.

However, as this Day is marked yearly on March 8th, the International Women’s Day (IWD) in Ghana, just like many other parts of the world is witnessing a new turn, the Covid-19 pandemic which places a restriction on mass social gatherings.

The venue is Accra City Hotel (formerly Novotel), it is also strictly by invitation but will be live on Facebook and Zoom which will mark it possible for others to join vertually.
