‘Women are the compass of meaningful society’ – Prof. Gatsi

Professor John Gatsi, Head of Finance Department at the University of Cape Coast has sent a congratulatory message to all women as the world celebrates International Women’s Day 2019 today.

The Economist extolled women and referred to them as “the world, the nations and meaning of our worth and wealth”.

In a brief statement, Prof. Gatsi said, “We congratulate you our dear wives, mothers, mother-in laws, aunties, women leaders, hardworking women at the trading floor, farms, markets, engineering platforms, healthcare providers and educationists. Indeed women are the compass of meaningful society.”

This year’s International Women’s Day is being celebrated on the theme, ‘Better the balance, better the world #BalanceforBetter’

The commemoration of the International Women’s Day is a call to action for everyone to keep pushing for complete gender equality.

This year’s theme is “meant to promote a future in which both men and women are equal in professional status, media perception, the positions they hold in government and more. Whether it’s men supporting their female coworkers or women pushing into the STEM field, everyone has a part in promoting #BalanceforBetter. STEM programs stress education in science, technology, engineering and math”.
