We won’t allow you to disenfranchise Ghanaians – Sirr Kham tells EC

The President of the Sankofa Movement, Sirr Kham, has warned the Electoral Commission not to try to disenfranchise the vast majority of potential voters.

Sirr Kham stated in his press release that the EC should put a stop to the inane decision to require potential voters to register at EC district offices.

According to him, registering potential voters at EC District offices will allow many Ghanaians who will be 18 years old and eager to exercise their voting rights to be disenfranchised.

“The NDC wishes to use this opportunity to remind the EC that under Article 42 of the 1992 Constitution, every Ghanaian of 18years and above and of sound mind is entitled to register as a voter for the purposes of elections. This right to register and exercise one’s franchise is an inalienable right that one should not be denied citizens who qualify to exercise same,” he said.

He said, Ghanaians will not sit aloof and watch Jean Mensah led EC and President Akufo-Addo to undermine the 2024 general elections.

“Don’t test the anger of Ghanaians,” he fumed.

Below are the details of the statement

DOES THE EC CHAIRPERSON (JEAN MENSA) & AKUFO-ADDO BAWUMIA NPP GOVERNMENT WANT TO TEST THE ANGER OF GHANAIAN YOUTH OR WHAT!

Why is Jean Mensa, Akufo-Addo Bawumia NPP government, always been diabolical, devilish and a nation reckless!!

After putting a whole 10% tax on betting and lottery, now you want to disenfranchised the youth of Ghana who are 18years and above from registering to exercise their voting right as well.

Mr. President and Madam EC chairperson, is there anything you guys are afraid of anaaaa!! Or the signals are clear that If you should allow the youth to register massively and vote, they are going to vote Massively against your useless breaking the 8 agenda!!, so you want to send the registration to your District offices, so as to discourage most of the youth in the hinterlands from registering.

One thing you must know is that, as the youth in other African countries are rising up against suppression, same as we in Ghana won’t allow you and any institution to suppress us in this country.

We have suffered enough under your 7years of governance and all we are waiting for is to kick your ass off in 2024, so please, stop doing things that could possibly lead to civil unrest in the country before 2024.
As Youth, we are ready to unseat your party in 2024 and therefore not interested in any civil unrest but if there is anything that could make you step-down from the seat of government, we are gladly going to be happy about it, due to the severe hardship you are taking us through.

Seriously all we are praying for is to sleep and wakeup to hear that, Akufo Addo is no more the PRESIDENT.
MAY THE ALMIGHTY ANSWER THE PRAYERS OF THE GHANAIAN YOUTH

THANK YOU.
Sirr Kham
(President, Sankofa Movement Gh)
