We Will Not Allow Falsehood to Prevail Over Competency and Truth – Ashanti Caucus of the NPP

Dr. KK Sarmpong

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

We Will Not Allow Falsehood to Prevail Over Competency and Truth – Ashanti Caucus of the NPP

We have taken notice of the falsehood been peddled around by some [ads1]self-seeking and greedy individuals with the aim of discrediting and tarnishing the personality and image of the CEO of Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Dr. Kofi Koduah Sarpong.

The Functional Executive Council of the NPP Ashanti Caucus, by this release, emphatically states that the issues relating to the allegations as presented by these dishonest individuals are a conscious attempt to taint the reputation of the CEO of GNPC.

The allegations are claims of personal vindictiveness and of subtle tribal nature with ethnic undertones, which at this moment do not augur well for our national development.

These allegations we have discovered, have been orchestrated and fuelled by certain disgruntled individuals identified as Comfort Aniagyei, Chief Finance Officer GNPC, James Yamoah Ag. Chief Operation Officer GNPC, and Charles Nii Teiko Tagoe, a Jubilee House staffer.

Dr. K. K. Sarpong has been one of the most potent and efficient CEOs for GNPC by far. His level of maturity coupled with deep experience in the industry and immense respect for corporate governance is his personal brand of competence eschewed since he commenced as CEO.

We the Ashanti Caucus of the NPP, have absolutely no reason to doubt his sincerity and genuineness in delivering his duties. He is resilient, principled and above all a man of undisputed integrity.

No form of material inducements and political affiliations with the opposition NDC within the Corporation, if any, can influence, or get in the way of his uncompromising principles as the CEO of GNPC.

Additionally, as those making the claims note themselves, there are legitimate corporate governance structures and procedures guiding the operational framework of GNPC. Under the Corporation’s current procedures and regulations governing procurement and recruitment, the CEO does not in any form interfere in these processes.

We demand that these unwarranted and untrue allegations must be ended at once! We will not allow falsehood to prevail over competency and truth.

We demand that those persons behind these shameful acts which are only intended to cause reputational damage to Dr. K. K. Sarpong, create disunity in the NPP party and specifically animosity against the Ashanti participation in high appointments to stop immediately!

Long Live NPP

Long Live Ghana
