“We don’t want any by-election”- Korsi Senyo reacts to the Keta Mp’s attack

MP-elect for Keta Constituency, Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey

Investigative Journalist Korsi Senyo has reacted to the Keta Mp-elect attack in the early hours of today, December 11, 2020, cautioning all NDC MP’s elect to be vigilant since he envisage Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey assault was politically motivated.

In a post sighted on facebook, he admonished the NDC MP’s elect to be watchful, circumspect, not to stay out in the night to be assaulted and make sure to have self defense weapons for protection to avoid being caught off guard.

“Please take your personal securities seriously. Don’t be sleeping in your person homes at least for now. Don’t be using your person known cars for now. Don’t stay in the night beyond 8pm for now. Don’t be drinking and eat with colleagues in private or public places for now. Don’t move alone for now. If possible go for African bullet, knife, Cutlass, poison proofs for now”.

He stated, “Remember we need you as majority in Parliament to help bring the true definition of democracy in Ghana”.

Also, Mr. Senyo indicated that, the NDC do not want any by-election in the course of any unforeseen eventualities for he believes if such thing occur the NPP  will use every means to claim their seats.

“We don’t want to hear any by-election as a result of any human evil actions (attacks). Remember what happened at the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency bloody by-election that produced Lydia Alhassan as the MP”.

“The NPP can use every and any force and money including guns to be able to win any by-election. You know what they can do, he added.

Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey, was allegedly attacked and assaulted by some gun men at his residence at Afiadenyigba in the Volta Region.

The assault is reported to have occurred around 1:00 am on Friday, December 11, 2020.

The unknown gunmen battered him and his family and made away with money and other valuables.

The robbers numbering about 10 are said to have held their victims at gunpoint while they ransacked every room in the house to see what they can obtain.

They made away with a pistol, mobile phones and about ¢50,000 from the MP-elect, his brother and other people in the house.

Meanwhile, the Volta Regional Secretariat has promised to give persons who help to arrest the perpetrators an amount of GHS 10,000.

The Keta Municipal Police has since promised to offer 24-hour protection to the Mp-elect.
