We already have 24-hour economy – Bawumia tells Mahama

Mahamudu Bawumia

The Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has asked the National Democratic Congress’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, to stop deceiving Ghanaians because the country already has a 24-hour economy.

According to him, the 24-hour economy policy is already in place and in use, as hospitals and fuel companies, among others, operate on a 24-hour basis; thus, it is nothing new.

He urged Ghanaians to vote against Mahama because he has nothing new to offer.

He went on to say that Ghanaians should vote against the former president in the 2024 elections because he has nothing new to offer the country.

“John Mahama says he has a new idea. What is the idea? He says he wants a 24-hour economy. He doesn’t even understand that policy. Today in Ghana, our hospitals work 24 hours a day, our electricity company works 24 hours a day, our water company works 24 hours a day, our fuel stations work 24 hours a day, and many chop bars work 24 hours a day. Today, because of digitalization, you can transfer money 24 hours a day, receive money 24 hours a day, So he doesn’t understand his policy. It doesn’t make sense.

Dr. Bawumia further canvassed for votes in the forthcoming general elections and promised Ghanaians to implement new policies and visions that will address the economic hardship in the country.

“So I want you to vote for me in 2024 because I will bring a new vision and a new policy. Mahama is the past, and Dr. Bawumia is the future. If John Mahama were there, we would say we have a dumsor economy; you can’t have a 24-hour economy in dumsor. So, if you want to vote for Dr. Bawumia in 2024, we will take the country to new heights,” Dr. Bawumia emphasized.
