Veteran gospel musicians failed to lay proper foundations – Anita Afriyie

Sensational gospel singer Anita Afriyie has revealed that the contemporary gospel artistes are struggling a lot these days to get financial benefit related to their genre because their predecessors failed to lay down a proper foundation.

The singer in an interview stated that their predecessors allowed pastors and event organizers to use them without paying for their services hence making money became a problem.

Her comment is a response to people saying secular music fetch more money compared to gospel music.

She blames the old musician for not making money out of their God-given talent who ends up with nothing.

“It is sometimes painful to hear people trying begging for money to bury a Gospel musician. It’s very disgraceful. This is all happening because of the old musicians. I blame those who started doing Gospel Music”

“They had hypocritical spirits by taking music as God’s work. They always call it God’s work. We those in the industry who ‘eyes opened’ and realized money is good are being targeted by pastors, she added.

Stating that if gospel musicians are able to make money, there would be no need for people to beg on their behalf.

“Therefore if they the pioneers had realized that money was good, we would not have been begging for money to organize their funerals as it has been seen in some cases. Money is needed in the ministry, period”, she noted.
