Veteran actor Mawuli Semevo passes on

The entertainment industry is in mourning following the passing of veteran actor Mawuli Semevo.

The celebrated actor died on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the Ridge Hospital, where he was receiving treatment for severe burns sustained in a fire accident at his residence.

According to reports, Semevo’s tragic demise has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, with many of his colleagues and fans taking to social media to pay tribute to his memory.

The veteran actor was known for his impeccable acting skills, which earned him a reputation as one of Ghana’s finest thespians.

According to eyewitnesses, Semevo’s house caught fire on February 8, 2025, while he was asleep.

He suffered severe burns, covering 44% of his body, and sustained respiratory injuries that left him struggling to breathe.

Despite efforts to save his life, Semevo succumbed to his injuries, leaving behind a legacy of outstanding performances on stage and screen.

Semevo’s impressive filmography includes roles in movies such as “Harvest at 17”, “A Stab in the Dark”, “Escape of Love”, “Like Cotton Twines”, and “The Good Old Days: The Love of AA”.

His contributions to the Ghanaian entertainment industry have been immense, and his passing has left a void that will be difficult to fill.
