The Assembly member for Wute electoral area in the Akatsi South constituency of the Volta Region, Hon. Wisdom Akpabli, has donated two canoes to Adzalokorpe, a farming community in the Wute electoral area.
He made the donation on Sunday, March 26th, as a testament to the priority he gives to the welfare of his electorate.
Speaking to Shine morning show host Mr. Cosmos Amen Posh, the Assemblymember popularly known as Avenor Okudzeto stated that the member of Parliament knows nothing about the canoes project despite his numerous promises of getting the people a canoe.
Speaking during the donation, Mr. Akpabli said the presentation of the canoes has become necessary because the lake (Tordzi) has overflowed its banks, as it does every decade, blocking all normal access roads and routes to these three communities in the electoral area.
Residents from the area applauded Hon. Akpabli for having the heart to honor the pledge he always makes before them.
They added that the donated canoe is going to save them from the daily accidents that occur when people cross the lake (Tordzi).
Speaking to our reporter, the beneficiaries from the area said that crossing the lake without a canoe or lifesaving equipment has put them at high risk of drawing in the deepest lake.
They added that children going to school in Logotey, those going for prayers, and the farmers going to attend their farms have been at risk of drowning always.
They added that they had never received a donation of a canoe in the area and that Hon. Akpabli was the first Assemblyman to donate one to them through his wonderful Massive Cheerful Giving Network’s NGOs.
They did, however, show concern over how politicians especially the member of Parliament have failed to fulfill his promises he always make during campaigns.
Mr. Akpabli thanks the NGOs for their kind gestures and appeals for more of their benevolent projects in his inauguration speech.
He used the media to thank the morning show host of Shine 96.9 FM, Mr. Cosmos Amen Posh, for constructing an unforgettable relationship between him, his electoral area, and the NGOs.
