V/R: US-based NDC executive donates to Zongo communities in South Tongu

A financial secretary for the National Democratic Congress in the United States, Mouri Jay Kofi Egblorgbe has donated nose masks and assorted food items to Zongo communities in the South Tongu district of the Volta region in support of Sunday’s Eid celebration.

The items which included 20 bags of 25kg rice, 50 bottles of cooking oil and over 200 pieces of nose masks were presented to the leaders of the Sogakope Zongo on Monday for onward distribution to the various Muslim folks in the district.

Presenting the items on behalf of Mouri, the South Tongu Communication Officer of the party, Emmanuel Gator noted that the presentation is an annual ritual that ought to be kept in support of the Ramada Eid which comes with a 30-day fasting.

“We are presenting these items on behalf of our brother who is currently based in the US as a form of an annual ritual that ought to be kept in support of Ramadan meant to renew our faith with Allah,” he noted.

He urged the Zongo folks to continue to pray against the Covid-19 pandemic while strictly observing the social distancing protocols, wearing of nose masks and regular hand wash.

The leadership of the Sogakope Zongo expressed their gratitude and offered prayers for the donor and the entire NDC party.

The NDC delegation was led by the South Tongu Constituency Chairman, Henry Johnson Ampah Chairman.
