Madam Cynthia Senyo Arku, a resident of Sokode Gborgame in the Volta region, who had reported the disappearance of a 19-year-old maid, Esther Mawumor to the police, says she believes the young lady was not kidnapped.
Madam Arku, told Awake News that the victim (Esther Mawufemor), before her weeklong disappearance, left home a couple of times and only returned after spending good time with a supposed unknown boyfriend.
She recounted that, at one point, after a 3-day disappearance, Esther Mawufemor had to call on her biological mother, who lives in Kade in the Eastern region to plead on her behalf, to be accepted back home by her (Madam Arku). She revealed that, upon interrogation, she admitted having been lodging with a boyfriend that is still unknown.
“I don’t really think she was kidnapped. Before she finally left home, she did that a couple of times and had to call her mum at a point in time to plead with me to accept her back”, she said.
“She confessed to the mother that she lodged with her boyfriend, when she left home for 3-days at the time. I’ve duly provided the police with this information. The only problem is I don’t really know who this supposed boyfriend is”, she concluded.
On her latest disappearance from home, Madam Cynthia Senyo Arku revealed that, the victim left home on Saturday 19th January, and returned the following day; Sunday 20th.
According to her, she asked the victim to prepare for Church service upon her return, since it was a Sunday. She said whiles the victim was preparing, she proceeded to the church and asked the victim (Esther Mawufemor), to follow up to the service, which she never did.
Esther Mawufemor, who speaks Ewe and Twi and dark in complexion, has since that Sunday 20th, not been seen or heard of.
Her disappearance has been reported to the Sodoke Division of the Ghana Police on Friday, 25th January, 2019, who are still on the search for her.
