The Chiefs of the Avenor Traditional Council, the Central Planning Committee, and the Akatsi South District have launched the Avenor Tutudoza at the British Council in Accra yesterday.
The launch was done to raise funds for the 2018 celebration which comes off in November this year. This year’s celebration is anchored on the theme; ‘Leveraging our heritage to promote development, peace and unity in Avenor’.

Speaking at the launch, Torgbui Ahiamadorwu Godome III, the chairman of the Central Planning Committee said, the main aim of this year’s celebration, is to source funds for the construction of a Traditional Council Complex for the Avenor Chiefs and people.
“…the main aim of this year’s festival is to source funds for the construction of a Traditional Council Complex. This complex would be unveiled today, at the appropriate time”.
“It is a call to everyone to come and see what Avenor is made up of and support in building a better Avenor. Avenor Tutudoza is an avenue to showcase and promote all assets of Avenor, and a platform to brand and market the Avenor land, in the bid to attracting investors and tourist, boost economic activity and also foster a high level of unity and pride in the hearts of the natives of Avenor.” he added.
Torgbui used the occasion to implore the natives of the Avenor land to inculcate a passion for the development of the area, saying, ‘no nation is committed to development o another nation’.
“I have come to the realization of one thing, that no nation is really committed to the development of another nation. Ghana can only be developed by Ghanaians, so Avenor can only be developed by the people of Avenor.”
The celebration starts from Monday 19th to Sunday 25th November 2018.
