V/R: Adekyee School is 10years but headmaster sleeps in the school’s office

The Headmaster of Adekyee School, Rev. Father Samuel Doh is currently sleeping in the school’s office,  ten years on after the establishment of the school that can now boast of over 200 pupils.

This was revealed when the headmaster was speaking at the 10th Anniversary celebration which took place at Okagya Krom in the Jasikan District on Volta Region over the weekend.

The school was founded by Most Rev. Gabriel A. A. Mantey, the Catholic Bishop of Jasikan on Monday 1st October, 2007 with the objective of fostering the joy of living together among Ghanaian children through quality education, physical, intellectual, spiritual, moral and social in order to regulate and perfect it in accordance with the teaching of Jesus Christ.

According to Rev. Fr. Doh, the although the school which started with a total number of fifteen (15) pupils from kindergarten to primary six (6) and eighteen (18) Junior High School pupils can boast of Two Hundred and sixteen (216) pupils for which some are from Nigeria, Sefwi Wiaso, Cape Coast and Bimbila with thirty two (32) dedicated and diligent teachers, as at 7th December, 2017.

Rev. Doh revealed that Adekyee School has a story building of eight-unit classroom block. A five-unit block for girls which can house two hundred and eighty (280) girls as it dormitory.

The school has ventured into agriculture and produces crops such as cassava, yam, okro, garden eggs, tomatoes, green leaves cabbage and others as a means of generating income to support the school.

At the Circuit Culture Festival held at Atonkor on 13th June, 2017, the school was adjourned among the first in five (5) most discipline in the district.

Rev. Father Doh is therefore, appealing to the general public to help them put up a bungalow for the Headmaster and other housemasters.
