Eric Jerry Aidoo (Chairman Jerry), the Greater Accra Youth Organizer of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) and CEO of Tema City FC, has urged leaders spearheading the construction of the National Cathedral to channel the funds towards sponsoring any of the top European teams.

This, according to Chairman Jerry will help boost tourism in Ghana by bringing in millions of dollars which can then be used to effortlessly construct the cathedral.

Chairman Jerry cited the three-year sponsorship deal between, Visit Rwanda and Arsenal FC worth £30 million.

Mr Aidoo also made reference to PSG’s unveiling of Lionel Messi by explaining that millions of people around the world got to know of Rwanda because Visit Rwanda was written on the back of Messi’s PSG kit.

“We all saw the unveil of Messi when we all saw at the back of his PSG kit written Visit Rwanda” he said.

It should be noted that the decision to construct a National Cathedral has faced a lot of backlash from Ghanaians which became worse when there was an appeal for funds by the National Cathedral Secretariat.
