Two prisoners break jail at Prampram cells

The Tema Regional Police Command is on a manhunt for two prisoners who escaped from the Prampram Police Station cells on Monday, April 22, 2019.

The escapees, then three in number, broke jail through the ceiling at about 11.20pm, when another inmate had alerted the police on duty.

DSP Joseph Benefo Darkwah, Tema Regional Police PRO, in a press statement this Wednesday evening, said the police rushed to the cells and realised that the ceiling of the cells had been broken and prisoners namely Samuel Pardie and Victor Fiagbenu, both remand prisoners, and Michael Nartey, a convict prisoner, had managed to escape.

It said alarm was raised for the immediate search of suspects, which led to the re-arrest of Michael Nartey, the convict prisoner by the Prampram Police at his hideout in Ashaiman.

DSP Darkwah said efforts are being made to get the other suspects who are on the run. On that note, he said the Tema Regional Command is seriously appealing to the general public to help re-arrest the runaway suspects.
